International Forum Ancient Drama & Digital Era
October 6th-7th
The Forum aims to explore the ways and methods by which the dialogue between digital culture and classic unfolds. On the fisrt day, academics and artists address the following issues: perception of tragedy in the digital performance, myth, art and technique, re-appropriations of the tragic, documenting performances and databases / datalization. The 2nd day program, curated by ArTeC – Labex Arts – H2H, proposes the dialogue between the theoretical thought generation and the creative artistic experiments. A series of theoretical placements and controversies, as well as Lysistrata and Agamemnon Redux showcases are presented, as a result of the workshops.

LabexArts-H2H (ArTeC)
The research laboratory Labex Arts-H2H is an interscientific collaboration led by the University Paris 8. The graduate school ArTeC supported by Paris Lumières University, constitutes the research laboratory Labex Arts-H2H. ArTeC’s mission is to promote and make research programmes, and apply new learning tools in the field of the Arts, Technology, Digital Devices, Human Intervention and Creations.
Foundation for Research and Technology-Hellas (FORTH)
The Foundation for Research and Technology-Hellas (FORTH), established in 1983, is one of the largest research centers in Greece with well-organized facilities, highly qualified personnel and a reputation as a top-level research foundation worldwide. FORTH includes six Research Institutes in different parts of the country: Institute of Electronic Structure and Laser, Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Institute of Computer Science, Institute of Applied and Computational Mathematics, Institute for Mediterranean Studies, Institute of Chemical Engineering Sciences.
Master Program with title Art, virtual reality and multiuser systems of artistic creation

The basic target of this master program is to give students twofold skill on digital Arts,artistic and technological. The emphasis is on the creation of joint artworks over the network and through multiuser virtual reality spaces. The originality of this master course is on joining the world of computer games of the Internet with digital artistic creation through multi-user platforms and virtual spaces which are created by the users.
Gavagai_Collective of Philosophy
Gavagai means rabbit, rabbitness realization in space-time or philosophy collective. Philosophy collective Gavagai is independent of traditions or establishments and doesn’t provide a programme for understanding or producing philosophical thought. It constitutes a space for young writers to express themselves, while at the same time attempting to carve the current state in an international level as well. Τhe project’s main undertaking is motivating and maintaining a revitalised critical consciousness in Philosophy and History of Science, a critique that recognizes the reciprocity between society and philosophy.
European Network of Research and Documentation of Performances of Ancient Greek Drama
The European Network of Research and Documentation of Performances of Ancient Greek Drama is a network of European institutions of higher education, brought together to develop an international multimedia archive of cultural material related to Ancient Greek Drama. Through the research and documentation of the subject, the researchers of the Network are aiming to revitalize the curricula of these disciplines through the development of joint programs and the introduction of specialized courses that will combine the most significant and imaginative elements of each perspective.
M.A. Programme in Theatre Studies at the Open University of Cyprus
The M.A. programme in Τheatre Studies at the Open University of Cyprus is in full operation since 2011, providing students with the skills and methods for understanding theatre, with special emphasis on three areas: (1) Reception of ancient drama (2) Theatre in education (3) Acting and Directing. Besides the educational part, τηε programme is quite active in academic research as well in actual theatre practice. At the same time, in co-operation with various cultural institutions of Cyprus and Greece we offer lectures, theatre workshops and webinars with theatre artists.
